Obsessed with this one. An important reminder of why we write and how our life takes shape on the page. Thank you 🩵

I also just bought Death Valley! I want to join your club and share thoughts as we go along!

lol wait I have more to say. I loved the part about every artist wanting to be a different type of artist. It felt so familiar as I harbor desires to pursue filmmaking. I think it speaks to an acknowledgement of limitations of the medium the artist is most equipped at and a desire to emote beyond it. I love it because it means that regardless of how much one can master a single art form, the spectrum of human expression ultimately eclipses it.

ahh thank you so much for reading and for your thoughtful words, brendon! limitation is exactly the right word, though it can be an inviting kind of limitation because it pushes us to go further. ❤️

“...my friend warns can mean you lose the magic of the fun of it all. ‘Don’t forget to just sit and enjoy it, too’, she reminds me.” Your friend is absolutely right. I collect mediums and artistic disciplines like a magpie collects shiny things. It’s so fun to follow my curiosity just because I want to!
